A child must be a resident of the Buckeye Local School District or expect to be a resident by the start of the season.

How are teams selected?

Tryouts are held in May of each year.  Players are assigned teams based on evaluations at tryouts and with input from the head coaches.

Can players from within the same community program play/sub on other teams in their program?

Where can I find the rules?

Rules may be found at  on the OHTSL website at: https://ohtsl.com/procedures.php

What is a typical travel season like?

Both the  fall and spring seasons consist of 8 games (usually one per week) and two practices per week. Games are usually played on Sunday afternoons but there might be 2 or 3 played on a weeknight.  A typical fall season goes from the first week of August – Mid October.   A typical spring season starts in April and will typically wrap up in early to mid June.

How much travel is involved?

Each season (Fall and Spring) teams play 4 home and 4 away games in their league. The home games are played at the Buckeye Soccer Association fields behind the High School tack/soccer stadium.  The away games are played in other communities in and around Northeast Ohio.

What type of commitment is required?

The commitment for the Travel Soccer Program  is a year of play. The year consists of Fall and Spring sessions.

It is expected that your child will arrive on time for all practices, games unless you have notified the head coach in advance.

How is playing time during games handled?

Playing time is not guaranteed, but head coaches are directed to attempt to distribute playing time fairly and try to even out game to game variations over the season to help continue the development of the players.  Playing time is generally more equal in “League” games as Development of players in those games is our primary objective.
